How to get there

45 kms or 50 minutes south of Adelaide:

Take the Main South Road out of Adelaide. If open, turn onto the Southern Expressway – both ways when you come to Old Noarlunga where the McLaren Vale/Victor Harbour road turns off to the left and the road to Aldinga/Cape Jervis and the Kangaroo Island ferries goes straight ahead. Continue Main South Road towards Cape Jervis.

7.5kms south of the Victor Harbour turn off you will see a turn to the right signed “Aldinga” Turn into the village, go straight through the round about and 500 metres further on, a road turns off to the right – this is Port Road. Follow this until the road swings left onto the Esplanade – 1.3 kms. 300 metres further along the Esplanade is the turnoff into William Street. Turn into William Street, and turn immediately right into the driveway of Captain’s Cottage. There is an identical house on the southern side of the Cottage.

It is best to travel to Port Willunga by car. There are very few public transport options in this area, and to get the best of your stay you will need to have access to a vehicle.
